naija music

Guys we have to give it to them UNA TOO MUCH. I am so impressed with the developments in the music scene in Nigeria today. The quality of the songs, lyrics and production is wicked tight.
I have been listening to the songs recently with keen interest and i must admit e set die. I just listened to Djinee's "i no dey shame" o'boy the song tight no be small. The video is brilliant and wicked fresh. PSquare's "do me" is another new one that is killing me now. Video is wicked sexy and the production is superb. Then the port harcourt scene is another area that is growing with nice songs coming out daily... like Korkornikor's "something for y'all" is my song of 2007. That guy is brilliant and wicked talented. The song has all it takes... smooth rhythm, good production and some very well put together lyrics.

From today i no dey buy pirated cds anymore...[my fingers are crossed] if na the small pepper wey dey reach these guys dem use dey turn out these nice songs, then we have to encourage them.

Yes, make i talk too. Abeg, all those guys wey dey sing nonsense abeg make una go rest. Some guys just come up with some very weak songs and lyrics with poor english and pidgeon english structure and tenses.... then Music Africa go dey show am.... abeg wetin be dat. Please find another thing to do and stop disturbing our ears. Some of them are so bad that i get really angry. If the song no sell dem go say na piracy and village remote control...na lie, the song is bad period. nobody go buy am even if dem pirate am sef.

In a nutshell let us encourage the music scene in Nigeria. Its big and will continue to grow. The only wahala wey dey be say the producers of the cds should please improve the packaging of the product. It is very poor. Small money don enter now so no excuses. Imagine Tuface cd pack na paper, very poor paper... You have to give the buyers something good and with good quality so that they can appreciated what they are buying. I find it hard to stack the cds with my collection cos e just blend and e no fine for eye. Abeg make the production people improve the packaging of these cds.

Am out.
